It's nearly summer, though the weather doesn't seem to have quite figured that out! However it is about time we did a list of ice creams that are gluten free. For when another heatwave hits...probably sometime next year knowing the British weather!

There are plenty of ice creams and lollies out there that are fine for us Coeliacs to eat so we have done a list, all the products on our lists do not contain gluten or have a may contain warning and Coeliac UK have said they are fine, there will no doubt be ice creams we have missed from other manufacturers, there are so many out there we have tried to cover most of the big brands. (Please note we haven't included Waitrose as a lot of their ice creams state wheat glucose, wheat glucose is classed as gluten free but we have left them off the list anyway just to be on the safe side)

We have included some of the dairy free options that are available too for those of you that cannot have dairy either, there may not be many around but there is at least some choice.

This is covering both ice creams while out and about and tubs you can buy in supermarkets so it is rather large, from mini milks to Ben and Jerrys, there is literally all sorts on this list perfect for the hot months!

When it comes to whippy ice cream it is hit and miss, most whippy ice creams are gluten free but there is a few out there that aren't, remember to get it in a tub and ask the ice cream man or woman to check the packaging for you, also check any sauces or toppings you have in case of hidden gluten.
