The retailer has just launched a trial of a brand new Free From range, with a strong focus on gluten free options. Whether you’re coeliac or gluten intolerant, this new lineup promises affordable and tasty choices. In this post, we’ll take a closer look at what’s included in the trial!

Aldi UK Trialling NEW Free From Range

Coeliacs have been asking Aldi for a free from section for a long time, and finally it seems like they have listened. Over the years they have had multiple free from events usually falling during Coeliac Awareness Month but they have never had anything permanent.

This new free from section is only just rolling out into Aldi UK stores and at the moment isn't in all of them, its in around 300 in total, they are only trialling this new range and it will only stay if it actually proves worthwhile. Lidl before have tried a free from section but it didn't last long and neither did Iceland's. Only the big five seem to be able to keep free from sections alive, so I would say, use it or lose it! Let Aldi know that you want it to stay.

I popped into my local branch this week to see what they had and found they had quite a nice little gluten free range going on, all in one area. In my store it was with the cereals/baking but may vary store to store. Here are the products I found and the prices

Nestle Free From Cornflakes £2.29
Nestle Free From Rice Pops £2.29
Warbutons Gluten Free Tiger Bread £3.49
Warturtons Gluten Free White Bloomer £3.49
Kavannaghs Gluten Free Porridge Oats £1.69
Aldi Free From White Loaf £1.69
Aldi Free From Seeded Bread £1.69
Aldi Free From White Baps £1.49
Nairns Gluten Free Rosemary Flatbreads £1.99
Aldi Free From Digestives £1.39
Aldi Free From Chocolate Digestives £1.39
Aldi Free From Vanilla Creams £1.19
Aldi Free From Cookie and Cream Wheels £1.19
Aldi Free From Macaroons £1.19
Aldi Free From Chocolate Macaroons £1.19
Aldi Free From Flapjacks £1.39
Aldi Free From Angel Cake Slices £2.09
Aldi Free From Brownies £2.09
Peroni Gluten Free Beer
Snackrite Gluten Free Pop Out Crisps £1.25
Aldi Free From Chickpea Pasta £1.29
Aldi Free From Lentil Pasta £1.29
Aldi Free From Green Pea Pasta £1.29
Aldi Free From Spaghetti 65p
Aldi Free From Fusilli Pasta 65p
Aldi Free From Blueberry Muffins £1.89
Aldi Free From Nutbar £1.69

These products seem to be the same over all stores from what I have seen, there maybe odd variations but it is good to see a nice range of free from products available as well as the products that were already available mixed in with the normal products such as gluten free tempura chicken and triple chocolate brownies.

Thank you to the people on Facebook Gluten Free UK Group who let me share their images!

There's a full list on my other blog here - https://www.coeliacsanctuary.co.uk/blog/all-326-aldi-uk-stores-trialling-gluten-free-range-find-by-county - but there are no stores in Scotland involved in the trail unfortunately
Please please please everyone in England and Wales who are Coeliac spend spend spend on gf products in Aldi. I am sure you will as they are so much cheaper than other supermarkets. Then if successful am hoping Aldi will then stock the Scottish stores with same gf products!! That way we all win as no need in future to shop anywhere else other than Aldi as us Coeliacs can buy everything we need under one roof!!!
