It's that time of year again when the gluten free Christmas products start appearing on supermarket shelves! From festive biscuits and Christmas puddings to mince pies, cakes and savoury snacks, the free from aisles are beginning to fill up with seasonal treats.
But what gluten free Christmas food can we actually get in 2026? Which supermarkets have the best selection, are our old favourites returning, and have the supermarkets finally listened to feedback from the gluten free community? That would be a first!
Every year, I look forward to seeing what the supermarkets have come up with for their Christmas free from ranges. There are always a few returning favourites...ok this year is more than a few, but I'm particularly interested in the new products and whether we're getting more variety especially on the savoury side.
I've put together this guide to the gluten free Christmas products available in UK supermarket free from aisles in 2026, covering Asda, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
I'll be updating this list as more products appear on shelves, as there are always some late comers, so it's worth checking back throughout the run-up to Christmas. Some products arrive earlier than others, and not every store will stock the entire range.
I'm concentrating specifically on the seasonal products found in the free from aisles, including gluten free Christmas cakes, biscuits, mince pies, puddings and savoury snacks. I'm not including dairy free Christmas chocolates here, as I've covered those separately in my gluten free advent calendars and Christmas chocolate guide.
If you don't want to buy from the supermarkets and maybe spend a little more with independent bakers, check out this list of small independent businesses as many of them will also have Christmas products nearer to the festive season.
One thing I've noticed so far is that I haven't seen Schär Lebkuchen anywhere this year, which is disappointing. Hopefully, some more products will appear as we get closer to December!
If you fancy making some of your own Christmas food including Lebkuchen, stollen and other foods you rarely see in supermarkets gluten free, check out my Christmas collection of recipes.
Asda has a varied selection of gluten free Christmas treats this year, with everything from traditional Christmas pudding and mince pies to festive shortbread and savoury snacks.
There are several different biscuits and shortbread options, which should be good news if you fancy something to enjoy with a cuppa over the festive period. The range also includes a few more unusual choices, such as Piggle Wiggle Crisps.
Apart from the Schar Lady Fingers (yes, rejoice, finally we have lady finger in the free from range!) nothing is really different to last year though!

Marks & Spencer calls its free from range Made Without, with gluten free products appearing under its Made Without Wheat range.
The Christmas selection I've spotted so far is small compared with some of the other supermarkets, which is always has been, but there is also a distinct lack of Mince Pies this year which is sad, they were almost impossible to find last year too.

Morrisons has a good selection of gluten free Christmas treats listed so far, including several varieties of mince pies, Christmas pudding, cakes, biscuits and savoury crackers.
Of all the supermarkets I think these are the one to put more "new" things in and not just the same as last year. The maple ones and the nutcracker slices (which are lovely) definitely stand out from the other supermarkets.

Tesco maybe one of the best ones for a variety this year with a varied gluten free Christmas range. There are plenty of options for anyone looking for festive biscuits, mince pies, cakes and snacks.
Alongside traditional favourites, there are some more unusual flavour combinations, including Belgian chocolate and pistachio cookies, caramelised apple crumble pies and maple and bacon tortilla curls.
I must say I am happy to see the sticky toffee tarts and black forest brownie make a return (yes, I did say that about brownie).

I've also spotted a dairy free hot chocolate made with chocolate pieces rather than the usual powder. A friend has spotted a Biscoff-style free from cheesecake online too, which is another product worth investigating. I'll add more details when I've confirmed the product information and availability..
Sainsbury's are probably the one to nail the Christmas selection this year with a broad selection of gluten free products, covering sweet treats, cakes, biscuits, mince pies and even a festive savoury option.
There are several products here that stand out from the usual Christmas free from offerings, including cinnamon bun-inspired cookie creams, white chocolate and gingerbread cookies, festive Lottie Caterpillar cakes and a festive sausage roll.

The festive Lottie Caterpillar cakes could be a fun option for a Christmas get-together, especially if you're looking for something a little different to serve alongside the usual festive treats. The cinnamon bun-inspired cookie creams and white chocolate and gingerbread cookies also sound ideal for anyone who enjoys seasonal flavours.
It's also worth noting the savoury options. Gluten free Christmas food isn't just about cakes and biscuits, and having a festive sausage roll and savoury biscuit selection available gives us more choice for parties and snacking. They also do the mini free from sausage rolls all year round and recently added to the freezer range with the likes of tempura prawns, so Sainsburys will be a great choice for gluten free buffet and party food.
Waitrose has a smaller selection of gluten free Christmas products on my list so far, but there are a few festive treats worth looking out for especially those divine Millionaires Tarts.

Waitrose Free From Christmas Pudding
Waitrose Free From Iced Fruit Cake Slices
Waitrose Free From Millionaires Brownie Tarts
Waitrose Free From Mince Pies (4 pack and a 2 pack)
The Millionaires Brownie Tarts offer an alternative to traditional Christmas cakes and puddings, while the iced fruit cake slices and mince pies cover two familiar festive favourites.
I'll keep checking for further additions to the Waitrose free from range but if it's like previous year this might be it for them.
It's still early in the Christmas shopping season, and these lists may change, the main products will be in but there are always some stragglers. However, there are already some differences between the supermarkets.
If you're looking for a bit more variety, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda have a broad selection of sweet treats, biscuits and festive snacks on my current lists.
If you're particularly interested in mince pies, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury's have several different varieties listed so far.
For Christmas cakes and desserts, there are choices ranging from chocolate Yule logs and brownies to tiramisu cake slices, sticky toffee tarts and Christmas pudding across the main supermarkets.
M&S and Waitrose have fewer products on my lists at the moment, but that doesn't necessarily mean their final ranges will be smaller. Products can arrive at different times, and availability varies between stores.
One thing I'd love to see is more genuinely different products across the supermarkets. Especially a bit more savoury. It's great to have familiar favourites return, but a bit more variety would make Christmas shopping much more exciting for the gluten free community.
I'll continue adding products as I spot them, so this guide should become more comprehensive as we get closer to Christmas.
Have you spotted any gluten free Christmas products in your local supermarket that aren't on my list? Let me know in the comments, particularly if you've found something new or discovered that an old favourite has returned.
It's always useful to know what's appearing on shelves around the country, especially when not all products make it into every store.
And if you're looking for more festive treats, don't forget to check out my separate guide to gluten free advent calendars and Christmas chocolates, where I'm covering the seasonal chocolate options separately.
