Tesco Product Recall Due to Undeclared Gluten in Free From Products July 2023
On the 1st July, Tesco recalled three of their free from crisp products due to undeclared gluten. All three products are labelled as gluten free which is quite a concern. Note, this isn't on the frozen battered free from onion rings it is the crisp version.

Only the batch with the best before date of the 16th December 2023 have the recall on them, so best guess is something has happened during production on the day of that batch that has led the manufacturer to believe gluten is present. I don't know for sure as it doesn't go into detail.

If you have any of these crisps with this best before date return them to point of sale for a refund.

Did you know, the bacon rashers and cheese balls you don't have to get from the free from aisle? Depending what supermarkets you have nearby, save yourself some pennies, Sainsburys regular own brand bacon rashers or Asda bacon bites are both fine for coeliacs. When it comes to the cheese balls as long as you don't need dairy free too all the supermarket own brand cheese balls are fine.

Onion rings though are a different matter, all home brands of the regular crisps contain wheat.
