Lentil Chips Recalled Due To Potential Gluten May Contain

Info correct as of 12th June 2023

Warp Snacks who produce Eat Real Lentil Chips have been recalled due to them may containing gluten.

Eat Real chips are labelled gluten free so this is a devastating blow - to carry the cross grain means the products have to be tested to prove them are less than 20ppm, the allowed level to be classed as gluten free.

Aldi and Lidl lentil chips are also affected as they are produced by the same people. Aldi also label theirs as gluten free but unsure whether Lidl do as well.

It is unknown the exact grain which has caused the issue so the recall applies to allergy sufferers of any gluten containing grain as well as those with Coeliac.

These are potential issue as it is impossible to know how contaminated a product it. The product isn't 100% guaranteed to be affected but there is a real risk they have been contaminated. Think of it like any other may contain 99 bags could be fine, but 1 might have been in contact, but there is no way of knowing.

Here are the affected products which have been recalled, it only seems to be lentil based ones not the likes of veggie straws.

I am very pleased to have found your website. Thank you. I react to very small amounts of gluten including those with the cross grained symbol. I won’t eat any products containing lentils. . Amy’s kitchen soup for instance. I have read that lentils can be contaminated. Also I react to dextrose. Sometimes it is a sugar form derived from wheat, it is in a lot of gluten free products but I still react badly .I have serious neurological problems from gluten. I just thought I’d pass on this information in order to help if I can.

I have coeliac disease and after a number of issues eating these crisps I now realise after googling if there are any issues with recalls that they are the cause of me being ill with gluten contamination. Once whilst on holiday and second time on the way to my sons graduation. Symptoms are bloating, acute abdominal pain and nausea.
