Warp Snacks who produce Eat Real Lentil Chips have been recalled due to them may containing gluten.
Eat Real chips are labelled gluten free so this is a devastating blow - to carry the cross grain means the products have to be tested to prove them are less than 20ppm, the allowed level to be classed as gluten free.
Aldi and Lidl lentil chips are also affected as they are produced by the same people. Aldi also label theirs as gluten free but unsure whether Lidl do as well.
It is unknown the exact grain which has caused the issue so the recall applies to allergy sufferers of any gluten containing grain as well as those with Coeliac.
These are potential issue as it is impossible to know how contaminated a product it. The product isn't 100% guaranteed to be affected but there is a real risk they have been contaminated. Think of it like any other may contain 99 bags could be fine, but 1 might have been in contact, but there is no way of knowing.
Here are the affected products which have been recalled, it only seems to be lentil based ones not the likes of veggie straws.
