Thankfully product recalls don't happen too frequently when it comes to gluten but they do happen, the latest instance is due to undeclared gluten in Aldi's Giannis Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream, their dupe of popular Ben and Jerrys flavour Chunky Monkey, which ironically is one of their gluten free flavours.

Aldi have recalled popular Gianni's Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream due to undeclared gluten in the ingredients which means it is a risk to Coeliacs and wheat/gluten allergy sufferers.
Food Standards Agency have issued an allergy alert on Aldi's dupe of Ben & Jerrys Chunky Monkey, Gianni Cheeky Monkey, due to wheat not being mentioned on the packaging despite it being one of the ingredients.
Ironically, the Ben & Jerrys version is one of their gluten free flavours, unlike Aldi's versions which contains wheat.
Only one batch is affected, if you have the batch with best before date of 14th August 2027 lurking in your freezer please do not consume it, return to point sale for a refund. Receipt isn't usually required in these instances as the product has been recalled by Aldi.
This batch will have already have been removed from shelves due to the recall so any in the freezers in store will have the correct allergy labelling, declaring wheat as an allergy within the product.
From the FSA's allergy alert, the recall is only in effect in England, Scotland and Wales Aldi stores so if you are in Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland then the recall will not affect you.
