Gluten Free Event at 70 Marks and Spencer Stores

Gluten Free Event at 70 Marks and Spencer Stores

Marks and Spencer are holding taster events at 70 of their stores across the UK, a chance to try some of their products before you decide to buy and find out more info.

About a week ago signs started popping up in various Marks and Spencer stores advertising a gluten free event, we heard that 70 stores across the UK are holding this gluten free event with most stores doing it on the 10th or 11th May although there are the odd ones holding it on the 8th or 9th. Marks and Spencer have kindly sent us the list of all 70 stores after we got bombarded with people asking if there local branch is holding the event, so now you can find out if yours is holding the event or not.

The event invites you to try their new products in a tasting session and find out more about their gluten free range, the posters are telling people to "find an advisor to sign up" to the event so if yours is listed I would be ringing or calling in to make sure they know you are attending the event.

We assume the event will be mostly focused on the new ranges which have come out in recent weeks, you can find details on all the new products in these two blogs; Marks and Spencer Made Without New Products April 2017 and Marks and Spencer make second April Made Without Release.

Check to see if your store is holding the gluten free event in the table below, there is only 70 stores so they are more than likely the largest food halls, but they seem to be well spread out over the country.

I presume it is the biggest store in Edinburgh but I will find out.

So I have to travel well over two hours just to attend!!!! Why aren't all stores doing this?

Alison @ Coeliac Sanctuary replied to this comment on 5th May 2017

It would be nice if other stores did it, I would guess it depends if they have the facilities, space and man power, or it could be because they don't know how well attended they will be.

I regularly shop at marks and Spencer's for my gluten free food.Their stock is always fresh,. quite a good choice of sandwiches salads etc.

Christine stott - 5th May 2017

What about all the branches in Ireland? M&S used to be the best supermarket for gf products now it has the least shelf space.

Maeve Buckmaster - 5th May 2017

why cant marks and spencer come to newbury store why do they have to go to 4 places in london its so unfair newbury always miss out

carol austin - 5th May 2017

Please is this for coeliacs or faddy foodies! I get sick of people who do not have coeliac disease hijacking things like this! They make it so difficult for us. They don't seem to realise it's a life changing thing for us. Not even a choice for us. Ok, rant over. Hopefully I can get into the Plymouth one. I love your gf coffee and walnut cake and your gf bread.

Wendy collings - 5th May 2017

Very disappointed not one isle of wight store is on the list. Love the choice in marks and Spencer's also price of food is very reasonable.

Clodagh - 5th May 2017

Just wondered why there are no events going on in Kent. There are coeliacs here as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have that information you will have to contact your store or Marks and Spencer customer service.

I am disappointed that there isn't one in coventry

Beverley Hannigan - 6th May 2017

Just a heads up that the Lakeside (Thurrock) store isn't listed, but is having an event on Wednesday 10/05 6pm - 10pm..

Sophie - 6th May 2017

Alison @ Coeliac Sanctuary replied to this comment on 8th May 2017

Seems to vary, some stores are asking you to let them know so they have an idea of numbers.

M&S at the Trafford Centre - we are excited and looking forward to our event on Thursday in our M&S Cafe. It's fantastic to be part of a great event in raising awareness of a great campaign. So if your in the manchester area we hope you can attend the evening

Eddie Hill - 9th May 2017

Thanks for your reply will be there at Leeds store ty

Anne davey - 9th May 2017

Just called into marks and spencer at metro centre and they say there is nothing on thursday night for coeliac awareness week

Gill pinfield - 9th May 2017

Nothing to bangor or llandudno store ... ridiculous i know many friends and my daughter would of loved this too .

Kelly - 10th May 2017

This is a shame, I've only just seen/been made aware of this (10.50pm 11th May).
I would have liked to have tried to make it along to one of these as my daughter who has coeliac disease does enjoy your food, so it would have been nice to try to give feedback on anything new.
We are in south Essex so if any more of these are to be held then one close by would be much appreciated, haha.

Denise Collett - 11th May 2017

why no portsmouth or fareham marks and spencer

Julie Barnes - 28th May 2017

Hi Lee, these events are nothing to do with us and we're just sharing the information about the events. We suggest you contact Marks and Spencer them selves with regards to asking whether other stores will be able to do the event.

I think there is a discrepancy on the date, please correct me if I am mistaken but according to my diary may 10th is Thursday NOT Wednesday as stated on the list of events. Which is it please 9th or 10th May ?

Jean Thomas - 8th May 2018
Alison @ Coeliac Sanctuary replied to this comment on 9th May 2018

This is 2017's list, we don't have the dates for 2018's events.
