Gluten Free Soft Chocolates

Back to all recipes.
Vegan chocolates are super easy to make and need very few ingredients, they are naturally gluten free and of course dairy free. We left ours so they were like soft truffles but you could coat them in a vegan dark chocolate so they have a gorgeous crispy shell. They are best kept in the fridge as they do melt very easily.

Gluten Free Soft Chocolates

This recipe was featured in

Ingredients

60g coconut oil
80g dark cocoa powder
6 tbsp maple syrup
75g dairy free milk chocolate (optional)

Method

  1. Melt the coconut oil in a pan, remove from heat as soon as just melted.

  2. Add the cocoa powder and the maple syrup and mix well, make sure to work fast as it starts to go lumpy really fast.

  3. Add spoon fulls of the mixture into ice cube trays or chocolate moulds, you should get around 21 small round chocolates out of this mix.

  4. Place in the fridge for half an hour or so until yet, they won't be really solid, you will get more of a truffle consistency that melt in the mouth. You can leave them like this or if you wish melt some dairy free chocolate and coat them liberally.

Nutritional info is without chocolate coating.

Butter would probably be the best alternative but I can't guarantee it will work out the same.
