I booked the Coconut Tree not really knowing what to expect. I certainly wasn't expecting chilli to be in everything, so beware if you don't like spice! When we walked in they asked if we had a booking which we did and from that moment every staff member knew we were coeliac. I find most restaurants don't take note of the "notes" you leave on bookings, but these definitely did. Whoever served us at the time knew we were Coeliac, they came over and explained what was gluten free and what wasn't and they really took the time to make sure everything was safe. All dishes are served tapas style and the menu states what is gluten free, only a few options aren't gluten free. we were told to order about 4 or 5 dishes each and then items came out when they are prepared, the last to come was the rice as they had to make ours freshly and away from the rest of it to ensure no contamination and the staff were clear to point all of this out. All the food was lovely but spicy, even the ones you though would be cooler were spicy! It was nice but it got too much and we both found 4-5 dishes too much for us, it ended up costing £70 for two of use (food and a mocktail each) so definitely not the cheapest either especially when we didn't eat most as we were full! Lovely place and would go again for a special occasion.
