Wildwood

Having ate at Nottingham previously we last ate at York, the food was great and staff were fabulous. On this visit I had a carbonara pizza which was nice, the base was lovely and on previous visit I had carbonara which was gorgeous and lovely pasta, not the usual penne you get. Also had garlic bread and toffee apple pavlova dessert.

I visited here with my husband. I am coeliac he is not. Most items on the menu are marked non gluten. GF pasta is available for most dishes. Unfortunately the meal I fancied contains gluten in the creamy sauce. I was asked if I minded if they cooked a separate sauce with cream only. Definitely, thanks. I had chicken & mushroom pasta, my hubby had normal Lasagne. Took a while to cook but when it came it was delicious & obviously just freshly cooked. Only downside was that the dishes came out together on identical plates & no little flag on the gf one. Other places always have a flag & most use different coloured plates.not a problem today because only 2 of us & ordered different meals. I ended up in hospital the last time I had pasta. 3 of us all ordered same meal. All came out together on same coloured plates & no flag. I asked if mine was definitely the gf one & waiter didn’t look too confident when saying yes. Within 2 hours I was ill, & within 2 days in A& E & spent 5 days in hospital! So now if I order the same meal as someone else I need to see its been noted as different. The other problem was my husband didn’t enjoy his Lasagne, it was way too salty. So for a change I came out totally satisfied with a gf meal but my husband wasn’t impressed with his. As this is a review about gluten free I would give 3 stars for the food, but because of the plates issue & an unhappy hubby I’ve had to mark it down
