Gluten free at Stoats Cafe in Totland

Cafe in beautifully renovated barn/stables. Really helpful owner who understands about gluten free & cross contamination (her mum was Coeliac). Gluten free pizzas, gluten free bread for sandwiches, jacket potatoes, full English breakfast (only black pudding not gluten free) and a few GF cakes. Chef very thorough about cross contamination. They have a separate tray for gluten free pizzas, separate grill for toast etc.

We couldn't wait to return here whilst on holiday. The mums of two staff members are Coeliac, so they're well aware of all the necessary precautions, as is the chef. We each had a pizza (mine was GF). I thought it was a little pricey at £15.25 + 1.25 for GF) but it turned out to be superb value for money. I did not anticipate that a GF pizza base could be so good (having tried a few) & it was super-loaded with yummy toppings including many large chunks of real chicken breast (there is a herbivore one too though). This pizza was such a feast that I had to take nearly half back to our holiday home in a doggy bag...thank you sooo much Stoats Cafe that was the BEST GF PIZZA ever. Service was a little slow & tea in a mug only but I would be a regular here if I lived on the island....a warm welcome & safe GF food awaits. PS. Husbands 'normal' pizza delicious too 😋

Really nice building eat in or outdoors. Great GF breakfast with GF sausages & bread & nicely cooked too. Only item swapped was black pudding (not GF) so I chose extra egg. Husband had a fab coronation chicken baguette (not GF)....lots of real chicken breast..delicious. We each had a mug of tea to drink...tasted fine but shame it's such a limited volume, would have loved a pot & hot water or top up! Two GF sweet options available choc brownie or flapjack... didn't try these. We would definitely recommend.
