Dice the turnip, carrot and onion and place in a pan along with the vegetable stock, allow to boil for 20-30 minutes until all the vegetables are soft.

Cut the smoked sausage into chunks and the ham into thick strips and add to the soup.

Add in the canned kidney beans and butter beans (you could use fresh but be sure too cook them first) straight after the meat and allow to warm though for 5-10 minutes.
