Gluten Free Air Fryer Apple Pie Pockets

Back to all recipes.
Enjoy all the flavours of classic apple pie in minutes with this quick and easy gluten free recipe. Using gluten free pitta bread instead of pastry, the air fryer creates a crisp golden shell filled with warm, cooked apple - a simple dessert that’s perfect for coeliacs and apple pie lovers alike. I have also used ready made pie filling, I recommend Princes, to save you the trouble of making it - though you can if you wish too!

Gluten Free Air Fryer Apple Pie Pockets

Ingredients

1 Warburton gluten free soft pitta
150g apple pie filling
Egg to brush
1/2tbsp sugar
1tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Carefully slit the gluten free wrap across the middle on the short length going only though the top layer.

  2. Crack open your apple pie filling and place half about 150g in the two sides, don't over fill as it will leak everywhere but make sure you have it nicely stuffed too.

  3. Make the cinnamon sugar by mixing the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.

4 . Wash the top of the gluten free wrap with beaten egg and sprinkle on cinnamon sugar.

5 .Air fry for 10 mins on 200c (check half way though to make sure it isn't cooking faster than expected), or cook in oven for around 15 mins. Serve while hot but do let it cool a little otherwise the filling it like molten lava, serve with cool custard if you wish!
