Bear in mind for this I am reviewing EAT IN, take out is completely different from my understanding. 8pm on a Saturday night after a long trip and we wanted some grub, the first place we found in Torquay which I knew did gluten free was Pier Point so we opted to go there. The take out was just closing and it was too blowy to sit on the front and eat them anyway so we ate in. We were shown to a table and given a menu, I asked for gluten free and was told it was labelled on the menu. The take away is a normal chip shop menu but the the eat in isn't it is more a fish restaurant and quite posh options, I went for fish and chips in the end as it was the only option that was more "normal" chip shop. We rang the buzzer to call the server and I asked about prep, she got really confused about what I was asked but we eventually established that gluten free was cooked separate so we ordered. The food took forever to arrive, it was busy so a wait is understandable but it was a good 45-50 mins to get food. I had to check twice it was gluten free as no one knew and my order had gone through wrong but in the end it was definitely gluten free. It looked and tasted nice however it did not warrant the £20 price tag unfortunately. If we went eat out it would have only been £8. Overall, if I am down in Torquay again I would go back but I would probably order off the take out rather than eat in.
  • Price £££££: Expensive
  • Food:Excellent
  • Service:Good
