Barnacles Fish and Chips

Barnacles is an absolute gem in North Wales. Set just one street back from Llandudno front it sits on the main shopping street. At first glance you wouldn't realise just how gluten free friendly they are. Both eat in an take out have a huge range of gluten free options from fish and chips, sausages and chicken nuggets to pies, quiche and curry. It has pretty much anything you would in a chip shop but gluten free as well as regular. They also have a range of cakes and desserts to choose from. Everything is very reasonably priced too, less than £10 for fish and chips (I have seen some at £20 recently!) for eat in and even less for take out. All gluten free is cooked and prepped separately, they are very understanding and food is excellent. Definitely a must visit

This has been one of my favourite little fish and chip places for quite a few years now. The service is usually good and the food is delicious whether eating in or out. The curry sauce reminds me of school curry minus the fruit. Well worth the drive when we do visit.

Amazing food every time I go there, can't fault it. They use separate fryers and utensils for gluten free food so no cross contamination .

Brilliant fish and chips, We've eaten there twice this year on visits to Llandudno and was a very happy diner, However the vegan wine is a pass for me. I'll stick to the tea.

Went to Barnacles yesterday with my partner and my 11 month old puppy. Not only was the place great for me with having coeliacs the staff also welcomed the dog and the food was great! Will definitely be back😁

Extensive GF menu, all fried separately.

We just had chips and a drink, but ate in. There's a specific gluten free menu including dessert. They were very clear in serving my GF chips separately from my husband's regular ones so I felt really confident that they take people's medical needs seriously and are keen to be reassuring and not make mistakes in orders. They even brought me GF vinegar. Staff were lovely, I felt safe from contamination and for once felt welcome in an eating establishment and not a nuisance! Will definitely return
