These travel cards are designed as a communication aid to help explain gluten free dietary requirements and Coeliac disease in other languages.
Translations are professionally prepared using native speakers; however, understanding and interpretation may vary between individuals and establishments.
The cards do not guarantee that food provided will be gluten free or safe to eat. Users should continue to make their own assessment of food suitability and allergen safety.
Travelling to a Chinese-speaking destination with coeliac disease can make ordering food more challenging, particularly when you need to explain the importance of avoiding gluten and cross contamination. Having a clear written translation to show restaurant staff can make communicating your dietary requirements much easier.
This Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional Coeliac Gluten Free Travel Translation Card includes both written forms of Chinese, making it suitable for use across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Singapore. Whether you are in a Mandarin or Cantonese speaking area, presenting the appropriate written translation can help you clearly explain your dietary requirements when ordering food. Compact and laminated, the credit card-sized design fits neatly into your wallet, purse or passport holder, so it's always available when you're dining out, shopping for food or checking ingredients during your travels.
The translations have been produced by native speakers to clearly explain coeliac disease, the need to follow a strict gluten free diet and the importance of avoiding cross contamination. Simply present the card to restaurant staff, chefs, hotel staff or food vendors to help them understand your dietary requirements and reduce the risk of misunderstandings. It can also be useful in UK Chinese takeaways to help them gain understanding.
Ideal for holidays, cruises, business travel and family visits, this gluten free travel card helps you communicate with confidence throughout Chinese-speaking regions. By including both Simplified Chinese, commonly used in mainland China and Singapore, and Traditional Chinese, commonly used in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the card is suitable whether you're travelling in areas where Mandarin or Cantonese are commonly spoken.
Here's where my Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional Gluten Free Travel Card for Coeliacs card could come in handy — countries where the languages on it are commonly spoken or understood. That includes places where it's the official language, as well as destinations where it's widely used in restaurants and tourism. It's a good way to explain your dietary needs clearly while travelling, even if you don't speak a word of it yourself.
If you're wondering what exactly my Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional Gluten Free Travel Card for Coeliacs card says in English, here's the full translation so you can see precisely what information it shares. It's especially handy if you're giving it to someone else, or you just want to double-check what's being communicated before you travel.
