Before you buy

These travel cards are designed as a communication aid to help explain gluten free dietary requirements and Coeliac disease in other languages.

Translations are professionally prepared using native speakers; however, understanding and interpretation may vary between individuals and establishments.

The cards do not guarantee that food provided will be gluten free or safe to eat. Users should continue to make their own assessment of food suitability and allergen safety.

Full Description

Ordering food in a different language can be one of the biggest challenges when travelling with coeliac disease. Explaining that you must avoid gluten and prevent cross contamination isn't always easy, particularly when menus and ingredients are unfamiliar.

This Bulgarian and Hungarian Coeliac Gluten Free Travel Translation Card has been designed to make those conversations simpler. The laminated, credit card-sized card fits neatly into your wallet, purse or passport holder, making it easy to carry and ready to use whenever you're dining out, checking ingredients or speaking with hotel staff.

Both translations have been produced by native speakers to clearly explain coeliac disease, the need for a strict gluten free diet and the importance of avoiding cross contamination. Simply present the card to chefs, restaurant staff or food vendors to help reduce misunderstandings and make eating out more straightforward.

Whether you're enjoying a city break, road trip, river cruise or business visit, this gluten free travel card is ideal for use throughout Bulgaria and Hungary. From Sofia and Plovdiv to Budapest and Debrecen, it provides extra reassurance when trying local cuisine and helps you travel with greater confidence.

I have Coeliac Disease and follow a strict gluten free diet. I cannot eat any foods which contain gluten, small amounts can make me sick.

I can not eat Wheat, durum, semolina, couscous, bulgur, rye, barley, oats

I can eat Fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, rice, potatoes, corn, egg, cheese, milk, beans and nuts

Cross contamination is also an issue, please prepare gluten free separate. Cooking my food in fryers also used for gluten containing products, sharing toasters and preparing food on contaminated surfaces can all make me very sick.

Thank you for helping me eat safely.

The card will be very helpful if go on holiday to these countries as would be very difficult to try to explain regarding needing to eat a gluten free diet due to possible language barrier.
