Mix together flour, cocoa and sugar in a large mug.

Beat in the egg and oil until you get a glossy, smooth mix. Add in a few drops of any flavourings if you wish to make something a little different from a plain chocolate cake, peppermint or orange flavourings both work well.

Stir in the chocolate chips and then place in the microwave for 1 and half minutes until cooked (the top will be sold with no liquid bits)

Top with some optional extras if you wish, grated chocolate, chocolate sauce etc

If you want a quick cake, this gluten free mug cake can't be quicker, put all the ingredients and put it in a microwave!

This chocolate cake takes seconds to cook in the microwave but don't let that put you off, it is exactly like proper cake, though it is more calorific than your average slice! It is packed with chocolaty goodness and full of flavour, you could even add you favourite flavourings such as peppermint or orange.

Massive mug overflow! Next time I'll make the mix in a bowl and split between 2 mugs.
Depends on size of mug, mine is quite large!
