Slightly Different Foods - Gluten Free and 100% FODMAP Sauces
Recently Slightly Different Foods sent me some of their Low FODMAP and gluten free sauces to try, they perfect for any Coeliac or IBS sufferer. They have a huge range to try out too so go check them out (link to their website further down the page!)

Who are Slightly Different Foods?
Founded by Sonia who was diagnosed with IBS in 2014, she ended up researching low FODMAP diets to help control it, from there came Slightly Different Foods. 100% FODMAP friendly, free from all all 14 major allergens and completely natural and nutritious.

Demand for Vegan products has also increased over the years and as the sauces are also Vegan they have become very popular with people following that diet alongside allergy sufferers and Coeliacs.

With an amazing team behind her Sonia now has a whole host of different sauces on sale and also do products such as Ketchup and Pickles - all completely FODMAP friendly! Their Tomato Relish picked up a silver award at the Christmas Free From Awards in 2021 too!

What is FODMAP?
Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols. These are short chain carbohydrates that the small intestine struggles to absorb and in some people cause symptoms similar to Coeliac. So if you have been diagnosed and still have issues this is usually the next place to look.

The main types of FODMAPS are Fructose (e.g fruits, honey - some fruits are higher in FODMAPS than others), Lactose (dairy), Fructans (wheat, onion, garlic), Galactans (e.g legumes) and Polyols (e.g pitted fruits, sugar alcohol)

On a low FODMAP diet the FODMAPS above would be avoided, some foods are higher than others in FODMAPs so it is a huge learning curve knowing what is low FODMAP and what isn't, there is loads of information online about what you can and can't eat.

Trying Slightly Different Foods
If you follow a low FODMAP diet or maybe you can't tolerate onion and garlic, Slightly Different Foods are perfect for you as all their sauces are free of these. Plus all are gluten free certified so you can be sure they are safe for you as a Coeliac too.

Shop bought sauces almost always have onion and garlic in and for those who can't eat them it means making everything from scratch, however these sauces means you can have a quick meal, no making it all from the beginning!

Whether it is a spaghetti bolognese, tikka masala, sweet and sour or fajitas, you can enjoy these again, check out the picture right at the top for a few more of the sauces (plus loads more on their website!)

I have so far tried the Tropical Curry as that one just sounded so nice to me, I chucked in sugar snap peas, pineapple and chicken and added the sauce and it was really nice. Something different from my usual curries and the banana and pineapple in it made it sweeter too.

I also had the tikka masala, which I liked but I did miss the onion, if you can't eat it of course it is fine, it still tastes good but for me just missed that onion taste. If I couldn't have onion this would definitely be a sauce I would go for though.

I have got more to try and I can't wait to tuck into some of them, really lovely products, perfect for anyone and especially good with people on low FODMAP diets or even vegan.
