Gluten free puff pastry is not easy to make and takes some patience, this recipe uses our gluten free puff pastry recipe which is perfect for sausage rolls. These are deliciously buttery and amazing! Beware you do need some patience to make the puff pastry.

Gluten Free Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

Puff pastry recipe - the amount of pastry in this recipe will make about 36 mini sausage rolls
6 gluten free sausages
1 egg for sealing and glazing

Preparation Time: 20 Mins
Cooking Time: 25 Mins

Dairy, Egg, Sulphites

Method

1. Follow recipe for gluten free puff pastry, this will add 12 hours to the preparation time, or you can use ready made gluten free puff pastry from the shops (you will need 650g)

2. Roll out the pastry to about 1/4 inch thick, place a sausage in the corner of one edge to get the size right then cut to same length as the sausage, roll up until the pastry edges meat and then seal with egg. Slice each full sausage roll into 4 pieces (you could keep them full size if preferred)

3. Place on a baking tray and brush tops with egg, place in oven preheated to gas mark 6 for about 20-25 mins until browned.

Soya spread can be replaced with normal margarine if dairy free is not required
