Garlic in brownies? Yes it sounds odd, but the addition of black garlic gives a richness to these gluten free chocolate brownies. If you really wanted you could make this recipe without the black garlic but it adds a unique, almost treacle-esque flavour to the brownie so it is worth trying out. Believe me it tastes nothing like garlic! Black garlic is basically fermented garlic so it is soft and gooey rather than hard. You can order from the The Garlic Farm (where I got mine, they are based on the Isle of Wight but they do do online orders) or you can buy it from some supermarkets in jars!
