A Closer Look...

I have never known a pizza to be so low calorie, and for me low calories tends to mean lack of taste when it comes to pizza but that's where Muscle Food's pizza differs. If anything they taste better than normal pizza.

When I got the chance to try out their pizza's I couldn't refuse, who'd refuse pizza? The fact they are designed to be high protein did get me wondering what it would be like, high protein to me makes me think protein shakes and body builders, but I gave it a go and I am glad I did.

The products arrive in revolutionary packaging which means they can stay in the box for up to 48 hours, ideal if you aren't in to take delivery, which means the products keep nice and chilled in transit to make it safely to your door.

The pizza looked like any normal pizza you get from a shop but I did notice straight away that the base was very thin, no more than 2-3mm thick. I'm usually more into deep pan than thin crust but this thin crust didn't turn out as I thought it would. When cooked I expected the crust to go really hard but it didn't it stayed really soft. So soft in fact that it was impossible to lift a slice to eat and I had to eat it with a knife and fork.

The toppings were really tasty and certainly weren't sparing, it was loaded with beef and chicken and plenty of cheese too. I often find pizza too tomatoey for my taste but this had a nice balance between sauce and other toppings and the tomato wasn't so overpowering.

The pizza was delicious, the only thing that I didn't like was how soft the base was, it was just impossible to pick up in one slice, other than that I did enjoy it, and being fairly low calorie for a pizza was a bonus, almost like eating pizza without the guilt!

I will be ordering them again, they aren't just necessarily a treat like most pizzas, they are great for any day really.
