There are quite literally thousands of places around the UK who cater to Coeliacs, granted some are better than others, some are also in the most unexpected places.

Have you ever been somewhere nowhere near a town or city or sat in the dark dim back streets and think "well I'm not getting anything to eat today", only to find somewhere that is exceptionally good at gluten free or even completely gluten free? I have honestly done it far to many times to count, these little gluten free gems seem to pop up in the most isolated or unexpected places!

Here are just 11 places that either sit in the back streets of towns or are totally out of the way, where you wouldn't expect these little gluten free havens to be. What hidden gems do you know about? Let us know!

Cranberrys
5-7 Cambridge Walks, Southport PR8 1EN

This little cafe sits in an almost abandoned shopping centre just behind the town centre of Southport, it offers gluten free bagels, ciabattas and cakes, loads of options and lovely staff!

Sugar Daddies Bakery
8 Roseneath Street, Marchmont Cres, Edinburgh EH9 1JH

There are two Sugar Daddies Bakeries in Edinburgh (the address above is for the bigger of the two) both set outside the city by about a 10-15 minute walk each. Both are 100% gluten free and do a fantastic range of gluten free cakes, sandwiches, breakfasts and much more.

All Mine Cakes
The Fishing Lodge, Southwell, NG25 0RS

This little gem is sat by a fishing lake and offers all kinds of gluten free sandwiches, cakes and breakfasts, truly sat out of the way of any town or city!

Roaches Tea Room
Paddock Farm, Roach Road, Upper Hulme, Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands ST13 8TY

Similar to All Mine Cakes, the Roaches sits pretty much in the middle of nowhere, a decent drive up country roads and on a popular hiking route, this cafe has a huge gluten free menu with a massive variety of choice both sweet and savoury.

The Mardle Cafe
51 The St, Lound, Lowestoft NR32 5LP

Set in the little village of Lound in Suffolk is a cafe and bakery called Mardle Cafe where there is a large choice of gluten free and even afternoon teas can be done gluten free, and everything is also homemade!

Dotties
6 Beechwood Rd, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 8BA

The amount I get told about this place is astouding, in Arnold just outside the city of Nottingham you can find this 100% gluten free cafe, whats more to say, it is 100% gluten free, makes it a total gem itself, and and hidden one when it's not right in the public eye.

Wildcraft Bakery
13 Penraevon Industrial Estate, Penraevon Ave, Leeds LS7 2AW

Similarly to Dotties, Wildcraft is 100% gluten free, it's not right in the centre of Leeds but on a small industrial estate, it hasn't got a cafe (yet), but the bakery on its own is definitely a hidden gem. It also offers gluten free baking courses!

The Lobster Pot
Portland Bill Rd, Portland DT5 2JT

A very popular place right on the tip of Dorset, but a place that offers so many gluten free options including the best scones you will ever taste, even when they are super busy they are super attentative.

Gloof Coffee Shop
9 Churchgate St, Soham, Ely CB7 5DS

And we have yet another 100% gluten free place that's lurking outside the main towns and cities, this one just outside the main shopping streets of Soham. Gloof is entirely gluten free and offers cakes and light lunches!

Chapel House
2 West St, Dunster, Minehead TA24 6SN

In Dunster just outside of Minehead you will find this little place, filled with gluten free options including loads of cakes and many main meal options.

Coastal Cafe
Dick Evans Road, Moelfre LL72 8HL

Sitting in a small coastal village, this chip shop offers an astounding amount of gluten free options from fish and chips to cottage pie and curry, you will never been short on options here.
